Common questions
- Can the assistant send email as me?
- No. Folio gives assistants read tools only: search, read a message or thread, list labels and folders, and read your calendar. There is no tool that sends, replies, deletes, moves or labels anything, so a letter that tries to talk your assistant into writing back has nothing to work with.
- Which plans include AI assistant access?
- Solo, Studio and Holding Co. all include it, and so does the 14-day trial. If a subscription lapses, connected assistants pause and pick up again as soon as the account is active.
- What can't an assistant see?
- Your Spam folder and the contents of attachments. It sees an attachment's name, type and size, so it can tell you a PDF arrived, but not what is inside it.
- How do I cut an assistant off?
- Open Connected apps in Folio and click Revoke. The assistant's next request fails within seconds. Folio also emails you every time a new assistant is connected, so one you didn't add never goes unnoticed.
- Does Folio keep a record of what the assistant read?
- Folio keeps 30 days of activity per connection, such as "Searched mail 14 times" or "Read 3 messages", so you can see how each assistant uses your mailbox. It records counts, never your search words or message text.
