How much does Folio cost?

Solo is $3.50/month or $2.99/month annually (up to 3 domains, 1,000 sends a month). Studio is $15/month or $12/month annually (up to 10 domains, 6,000 sends a month). Holding Co. is $39/month or $29/month annually (unlimited domains, 30,000 sends a month) for operators who want priority support and onboarding.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New accounts get a 14-day evaluation: 100 sends on one domain, no card. When it ends, sending stops and receiving continues while your account is active. A paid plan chosen during the evaluation starts with a 14-day card-required trial that does not charge until the trial ends; chosen after the evaluation, it is charged the day you pick it.

Open /app/billing, click Manage subscription. The Stripe customer portal handles cancellation; service continues through the end of the paid period.

Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-period?

Cancellations stop future billing but do not retroactively refund the current period. Annual plans cancelled mid-term keep service through the paid year.

Can I move between plans?

You start on a fourteen-day trial, charged nothing. Domains can be added, letters sent and received, identities configured. At day fifteen, pick a cadence — monthly or annual — and a card.

§ The two cadences

Monthly: $3.50 per month. Billed each month. No commitment.
Annual: $35.88 once a year — $2.99 a month, or two months gratis.

§ The Stripe portal

Every billing action — changing card, downloading an invoice, switching cadence, cancelling — happens in the hosted Stripe portal. Access it from /app/billing. We never hold your card number; Stripe does, on their side, in their vault.

§ Team seats

On Studio or Holding Co., the owner of a domain can turn it into a team. Each invited person gets their own address on that domain and a private mailbox: nobody else can read it while they’re on the team, the owner included, and there is no shared inbox. A seat is $4 a month, or $40 a year on an annual plan, billed to the owner’s subscription when the invitation is accepted and prorated. Removing a member stops the seat; the owner chooses whether that person’s address forwards to a teammate, bounces, or is released. When removing someone the owner can also keep an export: a 7-day .mbox download of the mail that person sent and received on the team’s domain while they were a member, confirmed by typing their address, recorded in the team history, and announced to them by email. Members accept this policy before joining, and their other mail is never included.

§ Cancelling

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not itself delete your letters. Sending requires an active subscription; receiving and stored mail remain available while your account is active. Account retention is separate: if there is no currently verified custom domain and you do not sign in for 14 days, the account and all its data and owned assets are deleted, including mail and integrations. Each sign-in restarts that clock; if you have never signed in, it starts at signup. One currently verified custom domain keeps the account. Past verification, billing and team membership do not exempt an inactive account.
