The subscription
Folio bills per operator, not per mailbox. Solo is $3.50 monthly or $2.99/mo annually (up to 3 domains, 1,000 sends a month); Studio is $15/mo or $12/mo annually (up to 10 domains, 6,000 sends a month); Holding Co. is $39/mo or $29/mo annually (unlimited domains, 30,000 sends a month, priority support, and onboarding). Plans scale by how many businesses you run and how much you send. All plans are managed through Stripe — the portal at /app/billing handles upgrades, downgrades, and cancellation without a support ticket.

You start on a fourteen-day trial, charged nothing. Domains can be added, letters sent and received, identities configured. At day fifteen, pick a cadence — monthly or annual — and a card.
§ The two cadences
- Monthly
- $3.50 per month. Billed each month. No commitment.
- Annual
- $35.88 once a year — $2.99 a month, or two months gratis.
§ The Stripe portal
Every billing action — changing card, downloading an invoice, switching cadence, cancelling — happens in the hosted Stripe portal. Access it from /app/billing. We never hold your card number; Stripe does, on their side, in their vault.
§ Cancelling
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Your letters are not deleted on cancellation — the inbox remains readable, you simply cannot send until you resubscribe. Receive-only continues indefinitely; no clock starts on your archive.
We will not hold your archive hostage. Your letters are yours.

How much does Folio cost?

Is there a free trial?
- Yes. The first 100 sends and the first domain are free without a card. Paid plans offer a 14-day card-required trial that does not charge until the trial ends.
How do I cancel?
- Open /app/billing, click Manage subscription. The Stripe customer portal handles cancellation; service continues through the end of the paid period.
Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-period?
- Cancellations stop future billing but do not retroactively refund the current period. Annual plans cancelled mid-term keep service through the paid year.
Can I move between plans?
- Yes. Upgrades are prorated to the day; downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you keep the higher tier through what you have already paid for.
